You can easily reach the Hamburg State Opera by public transport.
From the S-Bahn stations Dammtor (S2 and S5) and Jungfernstieg (S1, S3, U1, U2 and U4) as well as from the subway stations Stephansplatz (U1) and Gänsemarkt (U2) it is only a few minutes' walk to the opera house.
Buses 4, 5 and 19 stop directly in front of the State Opera (Stephansplatz) and at Gänsemarkt, bus line X3 also stops at Gänsemarkt (Valentinskamp) and bus line 112 at Stephansplatz.
